I hereby attest and affirm that I am the parent and/or legal guardian of _______________________ (the “Child”). I consent to allowing the Child to participate in and enter the Wahiawa Pineapple Festival 2008 Pineapple Ohana Poster Contest and agree to release in perpetuity photographic/video images of him/her and reproduction rights to his/her artwork. I understand that this entry will not be returned, will become the possession of the Wahiawa Pineapple Festival and may be used as a display, on official merchandise and/or for promotional purposes.
I hereby release, waive, indemnify and discharge Hawaii Marketing Alliance, dba Wahiawa Pineapple Festival, its affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, servants, attorneys, insurers, and persons employed or engaged by them, as well as their respective heirs, personal representatives, successors and assigns, hereinafter collectively called “Wahiawa Pineapple Festival,” the City and County of Honolulu and the State of Hawaii, (collectively called the “Releasees”), from any and all liability. I agree to never initiate any action or suit at law or in equity against Wahiawa Pineapple Festival or Releasees pertaining to the Child’s participation in the 2008 Pineapple Ohana Poster Contest.

2008 Poster Contest Rules and Regulations
1. Poster size shall be 8 1/2” x 11”.
2. Posters shall be on construction paper or poster paper.
3. Crayons, colored pencils, markers, ink pens, tempera paints and/or watercolors should be used. Collages...items glued or attached together are not acceptable.
4. Posters should be free of recognizable name brands of real consumer products.
5. Posters should incorporate the “Pineapple Ohana” theme. (Tips: things a family may do together...Going to the beach, picnic, park, zoo, aquarium, vacation, sports, etc. Remember the characters should be pineapples.
6. Posters must be ready for pick up by May 5th. Please have the posters in the front office. Darlene Oshiro or Henry Kitagawa (Wahiawa Middle School Art and Science teachers) will pick them up.
7. One entry per student please.
8. Please make sure the entry forms are filled out clearly and completely with their parent's signature.
8. Winners will be notified by mail no later than May 10th, 2008.
Posters shall be judged on:
1. Originality,
2. Creativity, and
3. Clarity of theme.
Posters shall be judged by a minimum of three adults, one of which is involved in the area of art and/or graphic design.
Grand Prizes: Student’s artwork featured on the 2008 Pineapple Festival promotional flyer. The prizes will be a $100 Toys R Us gift certificate for each division winner (K-1, 2-3, 4-5).
Finalists: Six additional pieces will be selected in this category. These students will receive a $20 Toys R Us
gift certificate.
